Wendy Fenton, President
Wendy Fenton joined A.J. Turvey in 1991 while still a student studying to complete her M.A. in history at York University. Bringing with her a background in grocery retail, she worked from the ground up beginning with reception, accounting, and sales, to becoming President of A J Turvey & Associates. Wendy has gained a tremendous amount of working knowledge in all aspects of the business. Residing in rural Northumberland County, Wendy enjoys biking and hiking the Northumberland hills, camping, and hosting family and friends at home.
Craig MacIntyre, Senior Vice President
Craig joined A.J. Turvey & Associates in the fall of 2009 bringing with him many years of strong sales and business achievements within many industries. He has been able to adapt quickly and efficiently to any working environment. Craig’s upbeat personality and understanding of the needs of the pet industry have enabled him to integrate with colleagues and customers and develop valuable working relationships. Craig stays
involved in his community and staying active in the outdoors with his daughter Zoe, son Trent, family, and friends.
Matt Turvey, Executive Vice President
Matt Turvey joined A.J. Turvey in 2008 after attending Seneca College’s Business Administration Program. He has since achieved his Certified Sales Professional designation, CSP, and is very attentive to the changing needs of his customers and the sales profession. Matt has also taken numerous courses on Retail Link, the web-based Wal-Mart Point of Sale Tool, allowing him to be proficient in sales analysis, forecasting, inventory management, and promotional planning. Matt lives in Toronto with his fiancé Laura, where they spend their spare time enjoying the city with friends.
Trevor Rae, Key Account Executive Central Canada
Trevor has been working in the pet industry as a manufacturer’s representative since 2006. Trevor joined A.J. Turvey in February of 2014 and continues to build on the successful relationships he has built with all customers and principals. He remains dedicated to providing professional insight and maintaining a high standard in working with industry leaders and professionals. Trevor lives in London, Ontario with his wife Meredith and their two Huskies, Zoey and Kavik.
Brian Lumbard, Key Account Central & Eastern Ontario
Brian has been working in the Canadian Pet Specialty industry since 1993. He has experience working with Distributors, National Accounts, Key
Accounts and high performing sales teams. Brian brings strong business acumen and builds lasting relationships both inside and outside the
organization. He lives in Courtice, ON with his wife of 27 years, Laura, 2 daughters, Jessica and Carleigh, and their Golden Doodle, Cooper. In his spare time, Brian enjoys camping, fishing, golfing and watching all of Toronto’s professional sports teams.
Hélène Bélanger, Key Account Executive Eastern Canada
Hélène joined the A.J. Turvey team in April 2019, bringing with her considerable expertise in the pet specialty industry, specializing in the Quebec market. She has more than 20 years of experience in account management and spent 15 of those years working directly within the pet care industry. In her past roles Hélène managed the sales activities for more than 100 independent and direct retail chains and looks forward to developing new business opportunities in her territory. Hélène enjoys cooking and hosting parties with family and friends, as well as outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, mountain biking and skiing. Hélène lives in the Laurentian region with her husband, son, and dog Jade.
Sean McGrath, Key Account Executive Western Canada
Sean joined the team in July 2014 and has a long history in the pet industry dating back into the 1980’s. His earliest memories of the pet industry date back to over 35 years when he started learning the business from his father’s pet stores which were in Winnipeg. Sean lives in Lower Mainland, British Columbia and likes to enjoy golfing, kayaking and mountain biking the local trails.
Darlene Shapton, Office Manager
Darlene joined AJ Turvey in 1998 beginning with reception/assistant. She now handles the accounting, inventory management, and day to day operations as office manager. Darlene enjoys playing soccer year-round and resides in Whitby with her two adult kids Tyler and Jessica.
Steve & Judy Turvey, Directors
Steve joined his father’s sales agency in 1987 and became president and owner of A. J. Turvey in 1989. In the year 2000, he decided to focus strictly on the pet business and represent only pet-related lines. He believes his success and that of the company is the talented and professional people that have worked with him to help build the company into what it is today, the number one pet broker company in Canada. Judy Turvey worked at A.J.Turvey as V.P. Operations providing support to the team and ensuring a well-organized & efficiently run office. Although Steve and Judy are now retired enjoying their time with grandchildren, golfing & travelling, they remain on the Board of Directors at A.J. Turvey
